Our Story

Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam

Mandya

Mandya is a fertile land nurtured by river Cauvery from the Krishnarajasagara dam. Barren lands of Mandya were converted to booming fields due to the brainpower of a famous engineer, M. Visvesvaraya who worked on the Krishnarajasagara dam project from its inception till its realization. Mandya is a place of historical and religious importance as well. The Cheluvanarayanaswamy temple at Melukote in Mandya district is the place where Sri. Ramanujacharya lived for 14 years preaching the principles of Vishishtadvaita.

Four months after Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketanam was built at Gulbarga district, Bhagawan Baba revealed His Divine will to start the next School, Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam at Mandya district. On February 10, 2012 Bhagawan instructed Mr B N Narasimhamurthy (Chief mentor, Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions) to look for a land and prophesised that the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Campus at Mandya will happen on February 19, 2012. The instruments in the Divine hands acted their role to perfection. The universe colluded to the Divine will and brought together the chosen resources. Mr Chennegowda, a localite whose son is an alumnus of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Institutions at Alike came forward to donate 10 guntas of land and his coconut grove. True to the Divine pronouncement, the groundbreaking ceremony happened on February 19, 2012 at Maradevanahalli village. The Divine resolve consecrated the Campus on June 1, 2013 blessing the first batch of students joining the Campus.

An ascetic, Chennabasappa lived in Maradevanahalli village in Mandya 200 years back and performed austere penance. His only wish was to build a Shiva temple in this place. However, due to the political conditions then, this wish did not fructify. The yogi left his mortal coils, but is still believed that he lives in a cave in subtle form in this village. Bhagawan ordained the construction of Shiva temple in this place where the sage is still performing penance. The village goddess, Maramma Devi’s temple has also been erected here by Bhagawan, after long years of negligence by the village folks which led to stagnation and shrinkage in the village. Regular temple cleaning and worship are being performed in these temples by the students themselves.

From the year 2013, the Campus has grown exorbitantly in stages. Sri Sathya Sai Hridhayam built in the shape of Sarva Dharma emblem comprises of the college, hostel, prayer hall and a room for Bhagawan Baba. Sai Anugraham is the place of the cooking fire, a dining hall for the guests and a small prayer hall. A well-furnished Staff quarters provides for all the required amenities for the staff who stay on Campus.

Lush green nature with peacocks flittering its feathers and flashing its myriad colours, spacious fields, magnificent structures of Bhagawan Baba’s love, speaks it all! The advent of Prema Sai avathar is foreordained to begin at Mandya and the Divine premises of the Institution is waiting to embrace the phenomenon of this third facet of Sai Avathar!

Chairman

“Working in the Institution of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba is a transformational odyssey from narrow mindedness to broad mindedness, from selfishness to selflessness, from head to heart. The Campus groom students with nobility and ability, so that they become fit to serve the society in future. The current mission of the Divine is a game changer for the entire world. It is a silent selfless revolution to achieve the ultimate goal of all lives on earth. Being a part of such a mission itself is a purifying experience.”

A Chairman’s clarity is an Institution’s capital!

My School – my greatest blessing!

“I was studying in a Government Kannada medium School at Gowchenahalli. A team of volunteers from Annapoorna Breakfast Programme and alumni of the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Group of Institutions used to visit our School everyday feeding us with nutritious breakfast and talking to us about the life and teachings of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba. They told me about admissions opening at Sri Sathya Sai Sharadaniketanam School at Mandya for the year 2017-18. I applied for the School and got selected. I have no words to describe how blessed I am to be studying in this School. My parents are daily wage labourers and even in their wildest dreams, they would have never thought of such a School for me. This School gives me everything even before I could wish for it. We all live like brothers here.”
